Mocs Reunion - September 20, 2008

Back Row left to right: Donnie Crowder, George Moody, Otis Gardner, Joe Petosa, Ronnie Weir, Bill Robbs, Mike Rice, Ken Mirabella, Mike Bishop, Phil Bullen, David Sessoms/head shot, Vince Stafford, Danny Adams, Ed Greif
Seated left to right: Steve Bevilaqua, Rodney Goff, John Tinkler, Mary Tinkler, Coach Harold Wilkes, Jerry Walker, Russ Gunter, Tom Rhyne and Jayne Holder.
Here is the picture of everyone that came to our reunion on September 20th, 2008. I feel reasonably sure that everyone is in this picture. It was a great event and Steve and I are talking on how to increase the attendance in 2009. Steve came up with the idea of this blog so everyone can stay in touch with each other and as my office manager is typing now, I will always need her help in operating this device, but it is a great idea. Steve and I have a list of all the players from 71 - 75 and we are trying to come up with a strategy to contact each and everyone. We had a great time at this reunion. Most of us had not seen each other in 34 years and that is way too long! As I told you in my last correspondence if it had not been for Duffy's death I might not have been at this event and trust me it was time well spent. I already am looking forward to next year and we will be in touch.

Searching for MOCS
After a great turnout at Homecoming, a number of us are comitted to locating some of the players that no one has seen or heard from in a while. If you are a player from this era, we encourage you to contact us so we can update your info and distribute it to other players who may want to contact you. We have compiled a spreadsheet of the players that we know of and their info. If you desire to have a copy of the spreadsheet let us know.

A Great Time to Renew Friendship
On Saturday, 20 or so of the early 70's Football MOCS met at the pavillion to renew our friendships and celebrate homecoming. A good time was had by all and many stories (some lies) were told about the good old days. I do believe some of us were ready to suit up and play. We look more like the NFL lineman today than we did in the 70's. Coach Wilkes gave the game ball to Mrs. Tinkler because the reality was that if it hadn't been for Mrs. Tinkler, we wouldn't have had 11 players to play. We missed all you guys that couldn't be there and look forward to your being there next year.
This blogspot is intended to provide all of us with a means of communicating easily with each other. I would like for us to post favorite old and new pictures of ourselves and families. My intention is for any and all of you to be able to post and communicate with each other. As I figure out how to do so I will let you know.
Thanks for coming and your friendships.
